McNeese Softball Hosting Meet & Greet Event On Wednesday

Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - We're still some time away from spring sports, but fans of McNeese Cowgirl Softball will get their chance to check out and meet the 2026 Cowgirl Softball team on Wednesday, and we've got everything you need to know.

Head Coach James Landreneau has built the McNeese Softball program into one of the best smaller schools in the entire country. This is evident as teams like Tennessee, Oklahoma, and LSU have traveled have made the trip to play in tournaments here in Lake Charles. That doesn't happen all over the country.

MCNEESE SOFTBALL MEET & GREET ON SEPTEMBER 24TH

McNeese softball fans will get their first chance to connect with the 2026 Cowgirls this week as the program hosts its annual Meet and Greet on Wednesday, September 24, at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond.

Gates will open at 6 p.m., giving fans the chance to tour the Cowgirls’ softball facility. At 6:30 p.m., a meal of gumbo will be served courtesy of the Dugout Club.

During the preseason, the Cowgirls will host Northeast Alabama Community College, Lamar, LSU-Eunice, UL-Lafayette, Southern, and Pearl River Community College in fall scrimmages.
