The McNeese Men's Basketball Team has continued their impressive start to the 2023-2024 season as the Cowboys are now 4-0 in Southland Conference Play.

For the second time in school history and the first since 1973–74, McNeese (15-2, 4-0) is 4-0 in conference play. They have won 10 straight games, which is the fourth-longest streak in the country.

The Cowboys are coming off a MASSIVE weekend inside of the Legacy Center where on Saturday they defeated Southeastern Louisiana 74-65 and on Monday, despite the freezing temperatures outside, the Cowboys defeated the Lamar Cardinals in the Battle of the Border 88-69.

Christian Shumate led the way in the game with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He notched his 5th double-double of the year and his 26th overall. Shumate was one of the five McNeese players to b score ten or more points. Shahada Wells tied a career-high with nine assists in addition to contributing 19 points. Javohn Garcia threw in another 17 points, he has now scored in double figures in 3-straight games for McNeese. DJ Richards and CJ Felder also scored in double figures against Lamar.

The Cowboys are now turning their focus to another weekend of big road trips as on Saturday McNeese will take on Incarnate Word and then on Monday they'll take on Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Saturday's Game vs Incarnate Word can be viewed on ESPN+ and can be heard on Magic 92.1.

Monday Night, the whole world will be able to view what Head Coach Will Wade and the McNeese Cowboys are building in Lake Charles as the game will be aired on ESPNU. This will be a massive game for the Southland Conference inside of American Bank Center. Tip-Off is slated for 6:00. If you don't have ESPNU, you can still listen to the game on Magic 92.1.
