Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - After an unexpected weather postponement earlier this spring, one of Southwest Louisiana's most meaningful charity golf tournaments is ready to hit the links once again.

The 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Golf Classic, hosted by Krewe De Fous Amis in partnership with the Buddy Russ Foundation, has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026. The event was originally planned for May 1 but was postponed after severe weather and heavy rain made the course conditions unsuitable for play.

Now, organizers are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting day of golf, community spirit, and fundraising. Even better, two team spots remain available for golfers who would like to participate and support a great cause.

The tournament serves as more than just a day on the golf course. It honors the life and legacy of Buddy Russ Conrad, a beloved Southwest Louisiana radio personality and community figure whose impact continues to be felt throughout the region.
