LSU Football’s Final Game Of The Season Being Played In Texas
The 2024 LSU football season is coming to an end today as they play their final football game of the season. Head Coach Brian Kelly takes his Tigers to Texas to play in the Kinder's Texas Bowl.
The Tigers will face off against Texas University Baylor in the bowl game. LSU finished the regular season at 8-4 and 5-3 in Southeastern Conference play. During the season, LSU was ranked sporadically with their highest ranking at #8 in the country.
They went into the game with Texas A&M but when they lost that game 38-23 they fell to #14/ They then lost to Alabama 42-13 to drop out of the national rankings. They then lost to Florida in Gainsville giving the Tigers a three-game losing street.
The Tigers bounced back to win its final two games of the season over Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. They were eliminated however from post-season contention and playing in the SEC championship game. LSU was invited to the Texas Bowl after the final rankings came out.
LSU will face a Baylor Bears team that finished the season at also at 8-4 on the season and 5th in the Big 12. Baylor also finished the season rattling off six straight wins as they head into today's bowl game against the Tigers.
LSU and Baylor will play in Houston Texas in the Kinder's Texas Bowl inside of NRG Stadium home of the NFL's Houston Texans. The game will kick off at 2:20 pm Central time and will be televised live on national television on ESPN.
