(KNGT-FM) - For some reason, here in Louisiana, we like to add a ton of extra letters to words that don't sound anything like the way they're pronounced. The one that always gets a chuckle out of me is the number of different words people will add "eaux" onto the end of something.

A few years ago, it even resulted in Joe Burrow giving a tribute to Louisiana during his Senior night running out in a "BURREAUX" jersey. If you go to an LSU game, you will still see those jerseys all over campus.

But, since Louisiana has a mixture of different influences throughout the state, some words, phrases, and towns can sound different depending on where you're located. I'll never forget the day that President Donald Trump came down to Lake Charles and pronounced Calcasieu “Cal-cask-oo-choo." That even made it onto T-shirts!
