LifeShare is kicking off Mardi Gras season in Lake Charles with a special blood donation event that helps save lives while celebrating a favorite local tradition.

Blood donations are important because they help save lives. Hospitals need blood for surgeries, accidents, and sick patients. Blood cannot be made, so it must come from donors. When you give blood, you help people in your community. One donation can help more than one patient.

On January 22 and 23, anyone who donates blood at LifeShare’s Lake Charles donor center will receive a free king cake from Pronia’s Deli & Bakery. Donors will also get a limited-edition Mardi Gras donor T-shirt while supplies last. LifeShare says Type O blood donors will receive an extra special offer during the event.

This King Cake Promotion is one of LifeShare’s most popular events of the year. It is meant to bring the community together while helping meet the ongoing need for blood donations across Southwest Louisiana. Blood donations are always needed to help local hospitals and patients.
