We are talking things like banks, your mail won't run that day, and all local, state, and federal government agencies will be closed that day. One of those agencies that will observe the Labor Day holiday will be the City of Lake Charles.

They will be closing their offices on Monday, September 1, 2025, and will reopen on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. With that being said, residents in Lake Charles need to be aware of the fact that there will be NO garbage pickup in Lake Charles that day.

Katie Harrington with the city of Lake Charles announced that trash pick-up would be altered due to the holiday and released the new schedule for Lake Charles residents, and when their trash will be picked up after the holiday. We have the new schedule below.
