Lake Charles And SWLA Trash Pickup Days Changed For Holidays
The holiday season is here and coming up Monday, it will be Christmas Day followed a week later by the New Year holiday. Businesses, public and private will be closing their doors for the holidays and letting their folks have some much-needed time off.
Such will be the case for the City Of Lake Charles and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury too. They will be observing the Christmas and New Year holidays which means most of their services will be closed.
That will also mean that your trash pickup days and times will be changed for both of the Christmas and New Year holidays and both the City Of Lake Charles and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury have released the new schedule and we have it for you here.
For the City Of Lake Charles,
Christmas Holiday Schedule:
Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday, December 25, 2023 will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
Garbage and Trash scheduled for pick up on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 will be picked up on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Thursday and Friday routes will remain on regular schedule.
The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Stations will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2023. They will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
New Year’s Holiday Schedule:
Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Monday, January 1, 2024 will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Garbage and Trash scheduled for pickup on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 will be rescheduled for pick up on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Thursday and Friday routes will remain on regular schedule.
The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Station will be closed on the New Year’s Holiday, Monday, January 1, 2024 and will resume regular schedule on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
For the Christmas holiday, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury advised,
Waste Management will be closed on Christmas Day. As a result, pickups will be delayed one day during the week of Christmas. Call Waste Management at 337-436-7229 with any questions or visit wm.com/alerts for updates.
The Solid Waste Convenience Centers, located at 5500 B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur, will both be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25. The sites, which are normally closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week, will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 28.
