Here’s All The Events For Mardi Gras In Lake Charles Today Feb. 21

It's Mardi Gras y'all and today is the finale of the season. Last night, Keith Frank rocked the house at Cowboy's for our Lundi Gras party and now we are all getting up and shaking the cobwebs out of our heads and getting ready for the big day.

Ryan Street will start filling up all day today as people jockey for positions for a good spot on the parade route for some fun. So what is going on today? Here are the keys things to know.

The Lake Charles downtown Business Administration is holding its annual Mardi Gras Block Party. It is taking place on the corner of Broad Street and Ryan Streets in Lake Charles starts at Noon and runs until 8:00 pm.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury will have their Mardi Gras In The Zone today from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm located in the parking lot between Pujo and Kirby Street in Downtown Lake Charles. This event is a family-oriented, alcohol and tobacco-free area for kids, parents, and teens to enjoy the Mardi Gras festivities.

The Second Line stroll parade will take place starting at 1:00 pm starting at the corner of Pine and Ryan street and goes to Clarence Street.

At 2:00 pm, the Jeeps on Parade Mardi Gras parade will take place. They will travel down Ryan Street and finish at Sallier Street.

The Motor Gras parade will take place starting at 3:00 pm from the Lake Charles Civic Center to Sale Road in Lake Charles. This parade features classic cars, trucks, and other old-school vehicles.

The Iowa Mardi Gras Chicken Run will take place today at the Kc Hall located on Highway 90 in Iowa. Doors open at 8:00 am and the Mardi Gras floats start lining up at 9:00 am and the parade rolls at 10:00 am. When the chicken run concludes they will have a zydeco dance with music by Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Krush at 5:00 pm.

Then the granddaddy of them all, the Krewe of Krewe's parade will take place. It starts at 5:00 pm and will leave the Lake Charles Civic Center and go down Mill street to Ryan Street. Then turn South on Ryan Street and head down Ryan all the way to Sale Road in South Lake Charles.
