Saints Rookies Rise To The Top in 2025

The New Orleans Saints took a big step forward in 2026, and a lot of that had to do with the rise of rookie 2nd-round pick Quarterback Tyler Shough. But he wasn't the only rookie to make an impact... Left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr was also a huge contributor for the Saints.

Now, General Manager Mickey Loomis and Head Coach Kellen Moore will try to nail back-to-back NFL Drafts.

New Orleans is trying to find young linebackers as veteran leader Demario Davis nears the end of his long career. Davis has been a key part of the Saints' defense for many years, but he is now 37 years old. That means the team is thinking about who will play linebacker in the future.

LSU Star LB Harold Perkins Jr Sends Message to New Orleans Saints

One player getting a lot of attention is former LSU Tigers linebacker Harold Perkins Jr.. The New Orleans native grew up cheering for the New Orleans Saints and now has a chance to play for his hometown team.

While speaking with reporters at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, Perkins confirmed that he met with the Saints and made his feelings clear. “Come get me,” he said about the possibility of staying in Louisiana. He added, “I love the Saints. I’m a Saints fan, but if they don’t come get me, I’m sorry. I’m not a Saints fan anymore.”

The 21-year-old linebacker said the meeting with New Orleans was good. But he knows he must play well at the combine to help his draft chances.

Perkins isn't the only linebacker that the Saints met with. It was also reported that they met with Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr. during the event.
