The festival takes place every year in downtown Gueydan, Louisiana. The event first started in 1977 and has grown into one of the most popular festivals in the region.

The 2026 festival will run for four days, from August 27–30, 2026. This year is extra special because it marks the 50th anniversary of the festival. Families come from all over to enjoy live music, duck calling contests, dog trials, outdoor cooking competitions, skeet shooting, and a large carnival.
