As we all know all too well right now, higher gas prices don’t just affect drivers. They can also lead to higher prices in stores. It costs more to move food and products when fuel prices go up, and those costs are often passed on to customers.

National Average vs Louisiana Gas Prices
A few months ago we reported on the difference in Louisiana's gas prices versus the rest of the Country, and when you looked at the prices, they actually looked pretty good compared to other states. We're creeping up there pretty high now...
Just a short month ago, AAA was reporting that the average for a gallon of regular gas was $4.02, the first time it has passed $4 since 2022.In Louisiana, people were paying around $3.63 a gallon. It is actually higher than that now.
Now, on May 28th, the national average is up to $4.43 for a gallon of gas. Louisiana is up around .30 cents from that report back in March, we are now at $3.95 per gallon for Regular. Diesel is around the $5 mark here in the Bayou State.
