
Events Going On In Lake Charles & SWLA This Weekend Aug. 22-24
[KNGT-FM] - Well, hello there, weekend. Where have you been? We have been waiting on you. That is what we all are saying today after another long week of dropping the kids off and picking them up from school, working your tail off, and dealing with the terrible traffic in the area.

We all just need a break and go do something fun, but what to do is always the question. That is where we come in. We have taken a look around and found some events going on in the area you may be interested in. Here we go.
The Gueydan Duck Festival is going on all weekend in Gueydan, Louisiana, featuring Gyth Rigdon, Wayne Toups, Frank Foster, and Richard Lebouef, to name a few. Get the full lineup for the three-day festival here.
Brad Brinkley will be live a the Croele Bar & Grill located on Arena Road in Sulphur inside the Double Tree by Hilton next to West-Cal Arena Friday night starting at 6:00 pm.
The Lake Charles Gun & Knife Show will be taking place at the Lake Charles Event Center inside the Exhibition Hall on Saturday and Sunday.

Ryan Foret and Foret Tradition will be live at the West-Cal event center in Sulphur, Friday night, for the annual Fleur Des Lis Dance for the Knights of Columbus. Doors open at 6:00 pm that night, and Ryan and the boys will hit the stage a little later that night.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and will conduct a DWI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in Calcasieu Parish.
