
Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office DWI Checkpoint This Weekend In The Parish
[KNGT-FM] - The weekend is almost here, and after a long week of work, responsibilities, and everyday stress, you may be looking to let your hair down and have a few. If you are going to do that, you need to have a plan in place to get home safely and not drink and drive.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) will be out in full force this weekend, looking for impaired drivers to keep our roadways and the citizens traveling on the roadways in the parish safe this weekend.
The CPSO is participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. They have entered into a partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to save lives and will be conducting a DWI checkpoint this weekend in the parish.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office made the announcement and said,
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is participating in the national crackdown on drunk driving with grant funding from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
During this campaign, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct a DWI checkpoint at an undisclosed location on Friday, August 22.
The Louisiana State Police and the Vinton Police Department will be assisting during this checkpoint. -Source CPSO Kayla Vincent
So if you are planning to partake in a few drinks this Friday night, make sure you get a designated driver, call a ride share, or stay put where you are. Never get behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking. You jeopardize your life and the lives of others on the roadway.
