Did Louisiana’s John Foster See the ‘American Idol’ Results Early?
KNGT-FM - Monday Night, American Idol crowned its 22nd winner as Jamal Roberts from Meridian, Mississippi was crowned this seasons winner over Louisiana's own John Foster. But, did Louisiana's Idol superstar already know his fate before it was decided? That's what some fans are saying, and we're gonna take a deep dive into it.
John Foster stole the hearts of Idol fans all across the country during his audition as he performed two classic country tunes in "Don't Rock The Jukebox," and "Goodbye Time" while bringing the judges a little taste of Louisiana to his audition in Nashville. Foster brought Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan a small cooler full of goodies from his family's business in Addis, Benoit's Country Meat Block.
During Monday Night's 3-hour 'Idol' finale, the show saw plenty of performances throughout the night, including a few surprises as well. After the second round of songs, the show eliminated one candidate from the running, and that was Texas' own Breanna Nix, leaving only Foster and Roberts left to vie for the Idol crown.

The question that has fans swirling is "Did John Foster already know the results prior to the official announcement?"
It appears he might have already known his fate. After the Season Finale, Ryan Seacrest stood on stage with the final contestants. John was standing right next to Ryan, and Jamal was on the other side.
In the most Ryan Seacrest way, he paused for a moment before saying the winner’s name. But before he spoke, he opened the envelope. Some people think John may have seen the name inside because he looked a little disappointed before Ryan even said who won. In the end, Jamal was named the winner, and John came in second place.
Here is how it looked in real-time. One is a photo of John peeking over at the envelope, with the next photo being his reaction once he turned his head around. You be the judge, do you think John already knew?
According to a report from TV Insider, John did indeed "barely" see the results on the envelope. Here's what TV Insider had to say about it...
TV Insider caught up with John after the finale and he said he “barely” noticed what was written in the envelope. “I was in a total blur,” he shared. “I knew I was at peace with being runner-up. Jamal is such an incredible performer. I was at peace. I really was. It’s a true honor to be runner-up.”
