Cheapest Gas Prices in Lake Charles, Louisiana on July 14th

Lake Charles, Louisiana - We are always trying to save you a buck or two, and so each week we take a look at the best places to get gas right now, this week, here in Southwest Louisiana. We've dove into the CHEAPEST gas prices here around the Lake Charles area, as of July 14th.

Even though we may think gas prices are extremely high, according to AAA, drivers continue to enjoy some of the lowest gas prices in the country. The average price for regular unleaded is $3.47 per gallon, ranking among the most affordable states and below many parts of the nation. Neighboring states are also seeing lower prices, with Texas at $3.42, Mississippi at $3.43, and Arkansas at $3.46. Meanwhile, states like California ($5.39) and Hawaii ($5.45) are paying nearly $2 more per gallon. Louisiana’s lower fuel prices keep it among the cheapest places in the U.S. to fill up.

According to AAA, gas prices in the Lake Charles area continue to see a slight decline compared to recent averages. The average price for regular unleaded is currently $3.57 per gallon, down slightly from $3.57 yesterday and $3.59 a week ago. Prices have dropped significantly compared to a month ago, when regular fuel averaged $3.83 per gallon.

Mid-grade fuel is averaging $4.03 per gallon, down from $4.07 yesterday and slightly lower than last month’s average of $4.34. Premium fuel is currently averaging $4.45 per gallon, nearly unchanged from yesterday but down from $4.49 a week ago and $4.75 a month ago.

Diesel prices are averaging $4.51 per gallon, holding steady from yesterday and down sharply from $4.82 a month ago. However, diesel remains above last year’s average of $3.27 per gallon.
