Cajun Weekend Weather Report: The Hottest Weather Yet Is Here

KNGT | Lake Charles — Alright y’all… welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I hope your air conditioner is working. Because if it ain't...You might wanna go spend the weekend at your mama's house.

According to the Weather Channel, Southwest Louisiana is about to get a full dose of July. We talking sunshine, slight chance of rain, and temperatures climbing into the mid-90s all weekend long. Dont walk barefooted on the concrete this weekend.

Friday
Friday kicks things off with a high around 94 degrees and only about a 20% chance of rain. That's about as close to a rain-free day as we get this time of year. You'll see a few clouds floating around, but don't let them fool you. The sun is still gonna be doing its job.

If you wanna play outside, i recommend early morning activities. By Lunch time its just going to be miserable outside.

Saturday somehow gets even hotter. Highs in the mid 90's, sunny skies and such a small chance of rain. This is serious "find some water" weather. Pool, River, Lake, Sprinkler in the backyard, I don't care where you end up... just stay cool.

And yes... go ahead and grab two extra bags of ice for the cooler this weekend. One ain't gonna cut it. Between the heat and everybody wanting a cold drink, you'll burn through ice faster than crawfish at a family boil.

Sunday keeps the heat rolling with another high around 95 degrees and only a slight chance of rain. Honestly... the biggest weather story isn't the rain. It's the heat. The UV index is once again sitting in the "don't play around" category. Sunscreen should be at the top of your list this weekend. Otherwise you're gonna spend Monday looking like a boiled crawfish.

Friday: Hot.

Saturday: Hotter.

Sunday: Still hot.

In other words...Hydrate. Find some shade. Keep the cooler packed. And if somebody asks if you want another cold drink...The answer is yes.
