If you've never been out for a day in St. Francisville, it is certainly a sight to behold. Incarcerated individuals compete in classic rodeo events like bull riding, barrel racing, and the crowd-favorite “Guts & Glory,” where riders try to grab a poker chip tied between a bull’s horns. These events showcase courage and skill, while also highlighting teamwork, discipline, and personal growth.

The rodeo includes exciting events like:

  • Bull riding
  • Wild horse racing
  • Bareback riding
  • Chariot racing
  • Barrel racing
  • Bull-dogging
  • Convict poker

It's not just about the rodeo; there is a little something for everyone. The popular Angola Prison Hobbycraft Sale offers visitors the opportunity to shop for handmade items created by inmates, including jewelry, leather goods, woodworking, paintings, and more.

Proceeds from the rodeo and hobbycraft sales help fund educational, vocational, and recreational programs for incarcerated individuals.
