Trouble Returning Amazon Packages? You May Get Money Back
Amazon has agreed to a large settlement after customers said they returned items but never got their money back. Others said they were charged even after sending items back.
According to Reuters, Amazon agreed to:
- $309 million in cash payments
- More than $600 million in refunds
- Over $1 billion total in customer relief
Amazon says it found a small number of returns where refunds did not go through or items could not be verified. The company says it has already started fixing the issue and sending refunds, even for returns from years ago.
Who could qualify?
You may be included if:
- You bought items on Amazon starting in September 2017
- You returned items, but did not get a refund
- You were charged later after returning something
The settlement still needs court approval, but both sides agree, so approval is expected soon.
How do you file a claim?
Right now, details are still being finalized. Many customers will be contacted by email, so check your inbox and spam folder. Customers are expected to get back the full amount they lost, plus interest. We'll keep you updated...
