Amazon Announces Documentary About LSU And NIL

It is no surprise that LSU is yet again in the National spotlight. On Thursday, Amazon Prime Video announced they will be doing a documentary on LSU Athletics.

Following the repeal of regulations preventing athletes from making money while in college by state laws and the NCAA, athletes can now profit from their entrepreneurial endeavors without losing their eligibility.

Players can now sell the rights to their likeness, name, and image. For the most well-known athletes, it has already shown to be a bonanza, but it also raises a lot of concerns about compliance.

Over the previous 2.5 years, LSU student-athletes have dominated the NIL game; now, a new Prime Video docuseries will feature the sports program.

"The Money Game," according to a release, will center on LSU's relationship with NIL, describing it as “a historic turning point in the NCAA upon policy changes on name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights—highlighted by the surreal experiences of LSU’s top players, coaches, and administrators—guaranteed to shape the trajectory of college sports forever.”

Heisman winner Jayden Daniels, gymnast Olivia Dunne, SEC Women's Basketball Freshman of the Year Flau'jae Johnson, and Final Four Most Outstanding Player Angel Reese are among the LSU athletes highlighted. The three highest-valued NIL women's athletes on On3 are Dunne, Reese, and Johnson; Daniels came in fourth among college football players.
