When the Motley Crue biopic The Dirt premieres on Netflix on March 22, a familiar face will be seen in the role of guitarist Mick Mars.

Iwan Rheon is best known as Ramsay Bolton, the Lord of Winterfell and a bastard son of Roose Bolton on the hit series Game of Thrones. Rheon appeared on the HBO show for five seasons, until his character met his untimely death via a pack of hungry dogs.

In real life, the Welsh actor got his start on the stage, studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before touring in the rock musical Spring Awakening. He appeared on several television shows for the BBC before Game of Thrones thrust him into the worldwide spotlight.

After Thrones, the actor starred as Maximus on the short-lived Marvel series Inhumans. ABC canceled the show after just eight episodes.

Rheon is also a successful musician, having released three EPs and one album, Dinard, in 2015. Though his own musical style fits more of an acoustic, singer-songwriter mold than Motley Crue’s hard-rock sound, the actor clearly has the musical chops to take on his role as Mars.

In a September interview, Rheon described working on The Dirt as "great fun." The actor seemed especially enthusiastic about the film's musical performances.

"To get to be in a band, and we spent three weeks learning the songs as a band, and reproduced the live stuff so it could look as authentic as possible, which was really good fun," he said. "Fantastic time.”

The actor has also shared his excitement for the film on social media, tweeting “Oh yes! This is happening,” along with a link to the film’s trailer.
