the headline says it all in this story. Every year, we hear the warnings about how hot it can get in a car in the summer sun and every year pets and human beings, usually children die from being left alone in a hot car.

even with the windows partially rolled down, the temperature in a car in the direct sun can quickly reach well over 100 degrees. At 105 degrees, a dog's system starts to shut down and heat stroke and death can follow very quickly.

To dramatize this situation, Arizona Cardinals star Tyrann Mathieu teamed up with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and sat in a car in the summer heat. It didn't take long for the temperature in the car on a 90 degree day to reach 120 degrees. As Mathieu says in the video, "don't treat your pet like you wouldn't treat someone you cared about."
