LSUPD Determines there was no threat (UPDATE)

(UPDATE): LSUPD has investigated the report of an armed subject at Coates Hall and has determined there was no threat. LSU is returning to normal operations.

UPDATE: The situation at LSU continues as the university says it is ongoing and the public is asked to avoid the area or remain in a safe place. Also, we do not know if anyone has been taken into custody.

WBRZ does report the scene is under control.

There was a possible armed person on the LSU campus as the university Twitter page sent out this alert around 3 PM.

The building was evacuated. No injuries have been reported at this time. The scene is reportedly under control, according to WBRZ.com.
