School Bus Pulling Up to Find a Massive Alligator in the Parking Lot is the Most Louisiana Thing Ever
This is one biology lesson that may be a little too close for comfort.
On Tuesday, a school bus in Pierre Part, LA pulled up in the parking lot to find quite the surprise. A massive alligator is seen in a viral photo shared on Facebook by the Cajun Experiences R Us.
Now, if Pierre Part sounds familiar, I would be willing to bet that you've probably heard of it from the hit television show 'Swamp People' where cast members like Troy Landry have put the small Louisiana town on the map for over a decade now.
On 'Swamp People' we usually see fishermen like Landry hunting down gators, but this big fella was on the loose at Pierre Part elementary early Tuesday morning.
According to the Facebook post, the gator measured just under 11 feet and if I didn't know any better, it seems like it was ready for school just like one of the kids.
Unfortunately, it is mating and hunting season so the gators are on the move and they are known to travel quite far from the swamps and other normal places where gators are usually found.
More images of the gator show just how massive this thing is.
According to sources familiar with the situation, a licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator was able to remove the gator before the students arrived for school.
By the way, Pierre Part Elementary's mascot is the Bulldog; and while it was a close call, that won't be changing anytime soon.
