For the first time since 1937, the Houston Rodeo has been shut down. The shutdown came yesterday officially at 4:00pm when Mayor Sylvester Turner announced it during a press conference. Now, the question is, will the price paid for the tickets to the rodeo be refunded?

Ticket company AXS is the main seller for Houston Rodeo tickets. The name might sound familiar, since it's also the seller for Golden Nugget. They issued a statement on their website saying that refunds are issued when an event is canceled. The statement said there is no need to contact them, as an email will be sent to the purchaser

It seems that StubHub and Vivid Seats have the same refund policy. Customers can choose to get the full refund or roll the refund into a coupon worth 120% their ticket purchase. The purchaser just needs to wait for an email saying the refund has been issued.

There is no word yet on if you purchased tickets for the rides and games, if those tickets will be refunded or not.
