Here’s How I Started My Day

Normally, I get to work each morning at around 4 a.m. and, of course, there's never anyone else around here and I have to place to myself. Well, this morning I arrived and the first thing I noticed was another car in the parking lot. Well, that alone kind of made me curious since the car was running and the lights were on. I guess I was kind of dumb for doing this, but I got out of my car, walked past the Mystery Car and entered the building. I remember last time I got brave in a parking lot!

I was living in Dallas and was actually packing to move to lake Charles the next day. We had everything loaded in the cars and the van, but I had to go outside just one more time to make sure everything was locked. Big mistake.

I had seen a couple of shady looking characters in the parking lot earlier, but I thought for sure they had moved on. I went to my car to make sure it was locked and, the next thing I knew, I was looking down the business end of a Glock. Well, long story short, I got carjacked. Needless to say, I've been a bit cautious around parking lots since then.

At any rate, the police got here in something like 3 minutes.  It turns out that the guy driving the car was trying to sleep one off in our parking lot. The LCPD was more than polite and understanding. Too bad the guy in the car was such a jerk. This dumb Schnook wasn't about to let the cops be nice to him.

Well, now this guy is in jail. I felt kind of bad for the guy at first, but when he got all mouthy with the cops he lost my sympathy. Now, I have to admit that part of me was all grown up and very business-like, but most of me was that 12 year old boy that still lives in me. Inside I was jumping up and down shouting, "This is sooo cool!"
