Since we are all back in the saddle of things and are looking to kick off new resolutions within ourselves, I have come across some things that, if you're looking to work out can assist with weight loss. These are some meals that are not too heavy on the tummy and will help keep you fulfilled and on a balanced diet at the same time.

Sometimes, the hardest thing to do after a complete body workout is not demolishing the entire kitchen after you're done, but you also don't want to have to starve yourself afterward, either. Here are a few quick items that could help you burn off the extra calories and more.

Turkey Bacon and Egg Whites - This is something that is truly a fulfilling meal and has helped me recover after working out. I am able to get just enough carbs and protein to get me going.

Oatmeal and Banana - I am not a health expert, but this is something I like. You are not bogged down in the kitchen for a long time trying to create something. A nice bowl of oatmeal with a side of banana (or in the bowl, if you prefer) will get you right. I come from the old school of having something with substance in your stomach. Oatmeal is thick and will coat you in just the right places.

Almond Butter and Whole Grain Toast - I am allergic to peanut butter, so this is my go-to. I am guilty of sticking a spoon in the jar and simply eating this with a combination of the almond butter and the nutrition of the whole grain bread. This will hold you until lunchtime.

Again, you may want to try different things to see what works for you. These are just some of the go-to things for myself. Remember, the journey to weight loss is not a race, it's a marathon. Take your time and do baby steps, and watch the weight come off as you become healthier.
