WWL quotes State Police Sgt Nick Manale saying "we suspect that it is a group of individuals who are working some major cities along the I-10 corridor but the biggest message right now for our listeners is to be aware of the activity going on in their own account."  It appears that devices called "skimmers" were found on some Whitney Bank ATMs. The "skimmers" are made to look like part of the ATM and steal your bar code and pin number. The investigation is continuing and Whitney Bank has deactivated and reissued about 7,100 debit cards. If you see something suspicious at your ATM ... notify your bank immediately.
