The National Hurricane Center are keeping their eyes on the Gulf of Mexico for potential tropical development over the next 5 days.

Water temperatures and winds in the Gulf are primed to facilitate a strengthening of this system when it exits the Yucatan Peninsula.  There is a possibility of it forming into a Tropical Depression or weak Tropical Storm by the end of the weekend when it makes landfall somewhere along the Gulf coast.

Most storm models are showing landfall between the Alabama and Florida coasts, however it is still too early to tell.
