ESPN Names Lafayette’s Daniel Cormier 3rd Most Dominant Athlete Of 2018
2018 has been a banner year for UFC sensation and Lafayette native Daniel Cormier. Such a banner year in fact that ESPN has just named Cormier the third most dominant athlete in all of sports for 2018. Quite an honor when you consider he's placed well ahead of people like Drew Brees (15) and Lebron James (12).
Daniel Cormier became only the second fighter in UFC history to hold two championship belts simultaneously in 2018.
The only two athletes ahead of Cormier are world record sprinter Eliud Kipchoge (2) and U.S. gymnast Simone Biles (1).
Cormier gushed about this honor on his Facebook page saying “Thank you all for your support this year and throughout my entire career. It means more to me than you know. We did this together.”
