Edwin Edwards is still a household name in Louisiana. He is, in turns, famous and infamous depending on one's point of view. One thing is certain, he will be in the public eye for as long as he chooses.

Edwards, because he is a convicted felon, can't run for state office, but he can, and very well may, run for federal office.

Edwin Edwards has been pretty tight lipped about the whole idea of running for office, but the rumor mill is working over-time with talk of Edwards running for a seat in congress.

If he decides to run, he will be squaring off against  Senator Dan Claitor and Louisiana businessman Paul Dietzel to try to win the seat that Bill Cassidy will be vacating to run for Senate.

The question remains as to whether or not he could win the race.  Well, of course he could. He's Edwin Edwards.
