On November 18th, we'll go to the polls, but you can avoid the rush by voting early. As a matter of fact, if you want to, you can vote today for that election. You'll find some state-wide decisions to be made about a whole bunch of local issues on the ballot, as well.

First up, Derrick Edwards (D) is in a runoff against John Schroder (R) for the office of State Treasurer. That office was left vacant when John Kennedy won his bid for the Senate. Back in October, in the general election, Edwards received 31% of the vote while Schroder got 24 percent.

Allen Parish voters will have to pick between Joseph "Jody" Chamberlain (no party affiliation) and Michael "Freck" Slaney (R) in a run-off for Oakdale City Court. In the general election, Chamberlain got 31% of the vote and Slaney walked away with 40%.

There are also several parish bonds and property taxes. To see specifics of what's on your ballot, visit http://geauxvote.com.
