
Southwest Louisiana Man Wins His First Battle Round On ‘The Voice’
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - SWLA resident Dustin Dale Gaspard won his first battle last night on The Voice signing a Hozier song.
Dustin faced off against Revel Day, a California based R&B singer.

In the ring, the two competitors sang Hozier's "Too Sweet," and they both brought amazing energy and silky smooth vocals.
All the judges sang the praises of both artists and it came down to who Niall Horan, of One Direction, thought had the better chance to advance in the competition and possibly win it.

Dustin Gaspard Wows The Voice Judges Again With Battle Performance
I know I'm biased, however, Gaspard really showed off his range in this performance and stage presence. The crowd loved him, you can really tell he's a seasoned performer and born to do this.
Michael Bublé said that Dustin has his favorite voice in the competition, Reba said that he's intrigued her since the blind auditions, and Snoop was impressed on how many vocal styles Dustin used during the performance.
Niall Horan Makes His Decision On The Voice Battle
It all came down to Niall on who would move on. He said that he really loved Dustin's vocal clarity and rasp. He went on to say that he wished he didn't pit the two singers together so that he could have both still on his team.
After choosing Dustin as the winner of the battle, Niall said that he is the most unique singer in this season's competition and that Dustin reminds him of many of his favorite singers. Horan ends saying that he truly believes that Dustin can win this season and I full heartedly agree.
