The City of Lake Charles is once again gearing up for the annual Downtown at Sundown concert series.  This year will make the 18th year in a row this event has taken over the corner of Ryan and Broad Street in downtown Lake Charles.  The Downtown at Sundown concert series will take place four consecutive Fridays, beginning May 13, from 5:30-9 p.m.

The event features a variety of live entertainment from local and national music artists, plus delicious food and beverages, vendors and merchants from all over selling arts and crafts and much more.  The entire event takes place outside, with a "street-fair" set-up and there's going to be plenty of activities for kids as well.   So bring the whole family and music at the 2016 Downtown at Sundown concert series

In accordance with the special event ordinance, from 2 to 10 p.m. each Friday, Ryan Street—from Iris to the parking lot entrance of the Phoenix Building—will be closed.

The series will kick off with two-time GRAMMY winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience and Young Band Nation opening the show.

An 8th generation Louisiana Creole, Simien and his band have performed more than 7000 concerts and toured more than 45 countries during their career.   He was also a featured artist on the first Zydeco song in a Disney movie in the song, “Gonna Take You There,” from “The Princess and the Frog.” Find out more about Terrance Simien and his phenomenal career at www.terrancesimien.com.
