28 Dogs Euthanized After Dog Fighting Ring Found In Baton Rouge, Louisiana
(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - Authorities say that five people will face criminal charges after they broke up a dog fighting ring extending through Baton Rouge and several neighboring cities.
Zachary Police Department officials say that the two families that were involved in the dog fighting ring are also being charged for drug distribution and money laundering.

After a two-month long investigation Zachary Police raided a home used for breeding and training the dogs. At least 30 dogs were taken into custody by the East Baton Rouge Animal Control, who also found treadmills, bottles of steroids, vitamins, and proteins that were purportedly used to enhance the dog to fight.
28 of the dogs found were euthanized. Officials at the shelter, where the animals are being kept, are thinking about finding homes for the two dogs that are left.
