Rolling Stone calls Delbert McClinton The Godfather of American Music, and he's coming to perform in Lake Charles in July.

Dilbert and myself share a birthday. He was born in Lubbock on November 4, 1940.  He moved to Los Angeles in 1972 and hit it big. Fast-forward to 1978, and he had his first number one song writing credit with Emmylou Harris recording Two More Bottles of Wine. That same year, a cover of his song B Movie Boxcar Blues was on the first Blues Brothers album.

McClinton will take the Grand Event Center stage at the Golden Nugget on Saturday July, 24 at 8:00pm.

He's won multiple Grammy awards and was inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in March of 2011.
