December is such a fun time for kids. The Lake Charles Children's Museum will make it even more special with lots of fun activities on weekend and while your kids are out of school for the holidays.

It all starts this Friday with Fun Friday kids make their  own fun pasta necklace in the ArtSpace from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Then Saturday it's CyPha Kids: Super Heroes Kids will learn about everyday heroes and how to help out in their community while getting an awesome pep talk from a real live super hero! The program begins at 11 a.m. and is limited to 20 children, ages 4-10. However, if more than 20 children are expected, there will be a second event at 12 p.m.

Skip to Friday, December 13 and it's another Fun Friday. Join the fun in the ArtSpace from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and build something fun with Playdough!

Saturday, December 14th it's Sasol’s Second Saturday Science Show “What Can You Do with Pressure?” At 11 a.m., Sasol’s Theresa Bell will perform experiments designed to show the cool things that can be done with pressure. Experiments include: inflate a balloon with lemon juice and baking soda, the balloon blow-up challenge and the hanging water experiment.

Friday, December 20 it's another Fun Friday, this time with the Spirograph Join the staff and other kids from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the ArtSpace and play with this classic geometric drawing toy that produces mathematical roulette curves.

Holiday Activities begin Saturday, December 21st with Breakfast with Santa (Members only). Enjoy a wonderful breakfast with Santa Claus! Breakfast will be served from 9:30-10 a.m. Space is limited to 70 children. Please call to sign up. (Membership must be valid.) We will post on Facebook when space is full.

Saturday, December 21st kids can Meet Santa Claus. Santa will be at the museum from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Don’t forget your camera! Santa will give out jingle bell necklaces. You can also make a Christmas ornament for your tree in the ArtSpace from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.!

Monday, December 23rd - Wednesday, December 25th the museum will be CLOSED.

Thursday, December 26th the fun begins again with Giant Snowflakes. Make a giant snowflake! Class begins at 11 a.m. and is limited to 20 children.

Friday, December 27th it's MAD HATTER Science. Kids will be exploring the senses and learning with Joan Vallee. Class begins at 11 a.m and is limited to 20 children.

Monday, December 30th the museum wraps up the month with New Year’s Crowns and Tiaras. Decorate your own crown or tiara with stickers and glitter and get ready to celebrate the New Year! Class begins at 11 a.m. and is limited to 20 children.

Tuesday, December 31st and Wednesday, January 1st the museum will be CLOSED.

The Children's Museum is located at 327 Broad Street downtown Lake Charles. Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $7.50 for children and adults.
