Lake Charles residents can now get help with cleanup and supplies from Samaritan’s Purse, a team from the disaster relief agency arrived in Lake Charles to begin serving homeowners affected by Hurricane Laura.

If you are not familiar with this group, you will want to know how amazing they are. They send out teams across a community to help with basic necessities, but they do way more than that. These folks sweep in and bring cleaning supplies and construction crews and help get your home livable again. I have dealt with them personally in a flood. They are such a relief when you are exhausted dealing with the tragedy.

These volunteers come in an get rid of all the debris in your home and then they start the reconstruction process after cleaning everything and making sure there is no mold. They even bring mold cleaning supplies in to get rid of any mold that is beginning to form.

You do need to get in touch with them as soon as possible to get on the list. You can also contact them online by clicking here.

Here are the numbers in the impacted areas:

Lake Charles: 337-244-0982

DeRidder: 337-226-4923

Teams from Samaritans Purse are on the ground in Lake Charles, Jennings and DeRidder. Three of the Disaster Relief Units—tractor trailers filled with relief supplies and equipment are getting help to those in need.

Samaritan’s Purse will work alongside several church groups in the community to help those hardest hit.
