McNeese got off to a slow start but rallied for a 30-20 win over Northwestern State Saturday evening in Cowboy Stadium. The win was the third in a row for the Pokes who moved to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Southland Conference. The win also guaranteed the 15th straight non-losing season for the Cowboys.

The Demons took a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. The Cowboys answered with a 96-yard kickoff return from D'Andre Sams to make it 7-6. The PAT was blocked. NSU led 10-6 after one quarter. McNeese got the first of three Bailey Raborn field goals to cut the lead back to one at 10-9. The Demons took a 17-9 lead into halftime.

NSU picked up a field goal early in the third to increase their lead to 20-9. That is when the Cowboys offense began to move the ball. McNeese would outscore Northwestern State 21-0 in the final 18 minutes. Cody Orgeron hit Trevor Begue for a pair of touchdowns and Raborn kicked two field goals to finish up the scoring.

Orgeron finished the game hitting 16 of 18 passes for 191 yards and 2 TDs. Justin Pratt ran for 87 yards on 29 carries. The defense recorded five sacks and one fumble recovery. Chris Livings had three sacks and Darion Dunn picked off two passes.
