Cowboys Host Colonels Saturday Evening
McNeese makes its first appearance at Cowboy Stadium on Saturday evening when they host the Nicholls State Colonels. Kickoff for the Southland Conference battle is set for 6:07. The Pokes are 2-0 with wins at Northern Colorado and Houston Baptist. The Colonels are 1-1. NSU opened the season with a win at FBS Kansas 26-23 in OT, but fell 42-17 at Tulane last week. This will be the 43rd meeting between the 2 schools with McNeese holding a 30-12 edge. The Colonels won last year's meeting in Thibodaux 37-35 on a field goal as time expired. That loss kept the Cowboys out of the FCS playoffs. Nicholls has not won in Lake Charles in 20 years. The Cowboys will carry a 9 game home winning streak into the contest.
