Cowboys Head to SFA Saturday Afternoon
McNeese is back on the road Saturday afternoon as they travel to Nacogdoches to face the Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks. Kickoff is set for 3:05. The Cowboys have won their last three games in Homer Bryce Stadium and beat the Jacks 17-10 last year in Lake Charles. McNeese leads the series 21-15-2.
The Pokes are 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the Southland Conference while the Lumberjacks have struggled to a 1-6 record, 1-4 in the SLC. McNeese is coming off of their best game of the year with a 42-27 win at home over Houston Baptist. The Jacks have lost two in a row falling to Abilene Christian last week, 31-24 in OT. SFA beat Lamar for their only win.
QB Cody Orgeron has played his two best games of the season over the last two weeks. He has completed 142 of 247 passes for 1853 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Cyron Sutton leads the team in receptions with 47 for 740 yards and seven TDs. Elijah Mack has rushed for 509 yards on 117 carries with four TDs.
On defense, Jovan Burriss continues to lead the Cowboys with 71 tackles. Cody Roscoe has six sacks and Cory McCoy has picked off 3 passes. Chris Livings is now 7.5 sacks away from the school record.
