Collective Soul was formed in 1992 in Stockbridge, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. The band first gained attention when their song Shine started getting played on local radio stations. The song quickly became popular and caught the attention of Atlantic Records. The record label signed the band and re-released their first album.

Over the years, the group has released 11 studio albums and scored eight No. 1 rock hits. Some of their biggest songs include December, The World I Know, Heavy, and Where the River Flows.

Throughout their career, Collective Soul has sold millions of records and performed for fans around the world. The band was also one of the few artists to play at both the Woodstock 1994 and Woodstock 1999 events.

The band is led by singer and songwriter Ed Roland. In 2024, the group celebrated 30 years together and released their newest album, Here to Eternity. The album was recorded at a very special place — the former Palm Springs estate of Elvis Presley.
