The 4th of July holiday weekend is coming up this weekend and the city of Lake Charles has announced that they will be closed on Monday, July 4th.

This means that the Department of Public Works, and other City Departments, including Lake Charles City Hall, will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022, in observance of the holiday but will reopen on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

So what does this mean for your trash and garbage pick up? Here is the altered schedule for the holiday.

  • Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
  • Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
  • Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

Katie Harington with the city of Lake Charles said,

All Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator, will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2022. They will resume regular operations on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

 

As a reminder containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.

The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
