Cheaper SWLA Gas Prices On The Way For The Fall

Most of the time, we don't notice the small changes in gas prices throughout the year. However, I was needing to fill up the tank yesterday and saw a sign for $2.17 a gallon, so I swerved through two lanes of traffic to get that gas. In fact, while I was filling up, I even contemplated executing a cartwheel I was so happy. Okay that's a lie, but in my head, I was doing my best Aly Raisman floor routine.

There are two distinct gasoline seasons. The higher priced spring/summer gas season with vacations and tons of travel and the fall/winter gas season where everyone is getting settled back into school routines and most travel is just local.

According to information released by AAA, Louisiana could see gas prices falling before the unofficial start of the "fall/winter gas season" on Labor Day. By their projections, we can expect gas prices under $2.00 by then.

The current average price for a gallon of regular gas in Louisiana is $2.31. The lowest price in Lake Charles right now is $2.08 per gallon.

Analysts with AAA also say a sluggish economy is to thank for lower prices on gas. When the economy slows down, so does the need for fuel, and with companies having an overabundance of fuel, they lower prices to help move their product and level out inventory.
