Charlie Brown Holiday Classics Not On Traditional TV In Louisiana
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas won't be airing on any national TV networks this year. We have the details on how to watch them for free.
The news of these holiday TV shows not being on traditional TV didn't go over well in the Oleander household. It's a tradition for myself, my wife, and our two kids to watch these classics together. If they take the original Rudolph off traditional TV, we riot.
The Charlie Brown holiday specials premiered on CBS in 1996 and were on ABC from 2001 - 2020. Apple bought the rights to the Charlie Brown holiday specials in 2020. That, of course, was at the height of the pandemic and fans of the TV shows were up in arms. Because of the public outlash at Apple TV, the allowed PBS to play the specials in 2020.
Now for some great news on how you can watch the specials for free. Fastforward two years and Apple TV will be showing the Charlie Brown holiday specials during a free trial period during November and December:
- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - available November 23 through November 27
- A Charlie Brown Christmas - available December 22 through December 25
In order to stream the shows, you'll have to download the Apple TV+ App or go to tv.apple.com.
