Calcasieu Sheriff’s Office DWI Checkpoint This Friday August 26
The weekend is almost here folks and people all over Southwest Louisiana, Lake Charles, and Calcasieu Parish will be looking for things to go do around the area.
The roadways may have a lot of traffic on them since everyone has been cooped up at work and in their house, with all the rain we have got this week. People will definitely be looking to get out of the house and blow off some steam.
So with that being said, if you are planning to get out and have some drinks, you will need to be prepared with a plan so that you and everyone out on the roads will be safe.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will be out in full force this Friday night, August 26th conducting a DWI checkpoint. They will be looking for impaired drivers in an effort to keep the roadways safe.
The checkpoint is part of the national crackdown on a drunk driving campaign, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” Kayla Vincent with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office said,
This checkpoint will target individuals driving under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics, which has been proven to be very effective in discouraging citizens from driving while impaired. People are more likely to designate a driver when they know sobriety checkpoints are being conducted.
Where is the checkpoint you ask? The DWI checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location in the parish this Friday evening, August 26, 2022. Please be safe and have your plan in place.
