Unfortunately, residents in Moss Bluff are going to have to find an alternate splash pad for the kids to cool off this week. Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced Monday (July 18) that for the next 4 to 5 days the River Bluff Park, at 747 Theriot Road, will be closed. This closure will specifically impact the splash pad and the playground areas.

According to reports, the city has closed the park to make necessary patchwork repairs to the special padding in the playground and water area. The good news is, that this is a temporary closure! Just in time for the weekend the park and all its fun water activities and playground equipment should be back in operation. The city reports that all repairs are expected to be complete by Friday, July 22.

Parish officials have placed a temporary fence around the impacted areas as a precaution to prevent residents from entering the closed play areas. Residents may receive updated information on the closure at www.calcasieuparish.gov or on the CPPJ Facebook page www.facebook.com/CalcasieuParishPoliceJury.

If something changes we will keep you posted.
