A decorated officer has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing animals. Terry Yetman, a Bossier City Police Officer, is facing 40 charges related to sexually abusing  animals.

Yetman turned himself over to law enforcement officials after learning there was a warrant out for his arrest. He was subsequently booked into the Bossier Max Correctional Center and charged with 20 counts of sexual abuse of animals by performing sexual acts with an animal and 20 counts of sexual abuse of animals by filming sexual acts with an animal. His bond is set at $350,000.

Louisiana State Police began an investigation into Yetman's alleged criminal activity back August. During their investigation, they got a warrant to search his electronic devices and allegedly found pornographic films involving animals.

BCPD officials say the patrol officer was placed on paid administrative leave in November when they were notified of the investigation. He will remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Earlier this year, Yetman  won the Trey Hutchison award for his work with domestic violence victims.

Yetman has worked at numerous law enforcement agencies over the years and has been on the BCPD force since November 2014. According to KTBS, at one point in his career, he was a K-9 handler.
