Every day, I try to make it a point to pause and be thankful for the many blessings I have received.  My family, my health, and this wonderful day are some of the obvious or more common ones.

Another thing I'm very thankful for is that Blue Bell Creameries has a distribution business in Lufkin. That means that once every month or so, when Blue Bell releases a new flavor, they deliver samples of that new flavor to us here at the radio station.

This morning, a representative from Blue Bell walked into our studios with the newest flavor:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Overload

Blue Bell describes it as a smooth Milk Chocolate Ice Cream loaded with chocolate-coated peanut butter cups and peanut butter cookie dough pieces. Are you kidding me!? Blue Bell could have just stopped with the chocolate-coated peanut butter cups, but creative creamery decided that perfection wasn't enough.  Let's go ahead and throw in some peanut butter cookie dough pieces as well.

Overload, indeed.

Let me also interject an unwritten rule for those concerned about this fitting into any sort of diet plan that you may be on.  I call it the Blue Bell Free Pass.  In my book, it is such a monumental event when Blue Bell introduces a new flavor that it preempts any sort of diet or meal plan that you may be on.  When you go to a huge wedding with an out-of-this-world reception, it would be bad manners not to partake of the food that they serve you.  It's kind of the same principle when Blue Bell debuts a new flavor.  You wouldn't want to be rude, so enjoy.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Overload is available at East Texas grocers in the half-gallon and pint sizes for a limited time. That's the part that scares me.  I know that Blue Bell can't make all their flavors permanent, but I'm really going to hate to see this one go.

Also available from Blue Bell this month is Bride’s Cake, a luscious almond ice cream with white cake pieces surrounded by a rich amaretto cream cheese icing. Also, Southern Blackberry Cobbler returns to stores in the half gallon size. The flavor is a creamy ice cream with a luscious blackberry flavor combined with flaky pie crust pieces and a blackberry sauce swirl.

I'm thankful...very thankful.
