The Baton Rouge Zoo is asking for the public's help in naming one of their new residents, a male reticulated giraffe who was born the day after Christmas.

There is a naming contest currently going on that's open to the public. (I can't be the only one that believes the winning name will be Burreaux?!?)

The zoo invites anyone interested in suggesting a name to do so at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BabyGiraffe.

Zoo staff will go through all the submissions and choose their top three favorite names. The public will then have the opportunity to select the winning name from those finalists.

The unnamed calf was born to Rose, a 6-year-old and first-time mom, and to Rowan, a 13-year-old father.

The new little one is the 20th giraffe born at the Baton Rouge Zoo.
